utetium Yttrium Silicate (LYSO) Scintillation Crystal is a high-density, cerium-doped inorganic scintillator renowned for its exceptional light output, fast decay time, high stopping power, and excellent energy resolution. These outstanding properties make LYSO:Ce crystals one of the most widely used scintillation materials for PET scanners, nuclear medicine, high-energy physics, homeland security, industrial inspection, and gamma-ray detection.
CQT GROUP supplies premium-quality LYSO scintillation crystals in customized dimensions and surface finishes to meet the requirements of OEM manufacturers, research institutes, medical equipment suppliers, and radiation detection system integrators worldwide.
LYSO (Lutetium Yttrium Orthosilicate) is an advanced inorganic scintillator composed primarily of lutetium silicate with partial substitution of yttrium and activated by cerium (Ce). When exposed to ionizing radiation such as gamma rays or X-rays, the crystal converts high-energy photons into visible light, which is then detected by photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs), or avalanche photodiodes (APDs).
Compared with conventional scintillation materials such as NaI(Tl), BGO, or CsI(Tl), LYSO offers significantly faster response, higher density, better radiation stopping efficiency, and improved timing performance.
High Light Output
LYSO crystals provide excellent scintillation efficiency, generating a high number of photons for improved signal quality and detection accuracy.
Benefits include:
High detection sensitivity
Improved signal-to-noise ratio
